1. Dog body language and what your dog is communicating to you,
2. how dogs learn, and
3. the skills to teach your dog one or two of your main training aims,
for observation and recommendations regarding a problem behaviour you are
Understanding your dog's body language is essential to decipher what your dog is trying to communicate to you and it makes you a better teacher when you learn to read your dog. Many guardians are amazed to learn that their dog is not ignoring or deliberately disobeying them at all, but is actually communicating stress, fear, fatigue or a lack of understanding. Developing this understanding enhances your relationship with your dog - you begin to realize why your dog behaves in certain ways.
Understanding how dogs learn makes teaching effective, efficient, and don't forget FUN! Clicker training is one of Sonya's favourite ways to teach and you will receive the basics to get started with this most enjoyable form of teaching.
The session includes:
1. a clicker,
2. a personalised file summarizing the information covered, and
3. phone/email support for any issued covered in training.
All initial consults are two hours. After the initial consult, minimum in-home charge is an hour ($120.00 in-home or $75.00 video), then charged in 15 minute increments if needed and at your request. Most clients find follow-up sessions extremely useful (one of the reasons discounted packages are offered). After having a chance to practice, they have the opportunity to ask questions, get help with problems encountered and gain tips through demonstrations with their dog.
Note: Travel Surcharge. Distance is no problem, however a travel surcharge applies for distances over 29 km from Shoalwater.
Feel free to contact Sonya if you are unsure of which service will best suit your needs.
